Find Lampasas County Jail Releases

To find someone released from Lampasas County Jail, first determine whether the person returned to the community or moved to another custodian. Lampasas County Jail releases include bond, sentence completion, time served, dismissal, and other court-authorized exits. The same jail also transfers people to contracted county housing, state corrections, federal custody, or immigration custody. A missing name cannot distinguish those outcomes. The strongest confirmation joins the Lampasas County Jail release or transfer entry with the legal order and, when custody continued, the receiving system’s record. Current notification tools offer a fast signal, while the permanent jail register preserves the durable event.

Lampasas County Jail Release Paths

Lampasas County Jail is the county’s central detention facility. Leaving the building can mean community release, but it can also mean that custody continued somewhere else. A surety or personal bond permits pre-disposition release subject to the court’s terms. Completion of a county sentence or a time-served order ends the confinement covered by that authority. A dismissal may permit release only when no other warrant, sentence, or hold remains.

Transfers require special care. Lampasas may move a detainee to Burnet County under a documented housing arrangement, to another county on a warrant, to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after conviction, or to federal or immigration custody. The permanent jail register expressly records a date of release or transfer. Ask for the event type, authority, and receiving agency where releasable instead of treating every physical departure as freedom.

Confirm Lampasas County Jail Release

No official Lampasas County roster, booking page, or recent-release feed was located. The sheriff’s page instead points to a custody-notification service and gives direct contact information. Texas moved county jail and court notifications from VINE to Texas IVSS-Counties effective September 1, 2025, so current searches should begin through the Attorney General’s current notification page.

  1. Search for the person in the current county notification system and select the correct Lampasas agency and identity.
  2. Call 512-556-8255. Ask whether the person is held now and, if not, whether the event was release or transfer.
  3. Request the actual date and time, event type, authority, and receiving agency when public.
  4. Check the matching County Court or District Court docket, then obtain the filed bond, dismissal, judgment, or release order.
  5. When a transfer occurred, continue in the receiving county, TDCJ, BOP, ICE, or federal court record.
A notification is a signal, not the whole file. Read the event label because a reported transfer does not equal community release.

The full county search and record-request chain is covered on the Lampasas County released inmates page. For firm proof, combine the jail entry with the legal order or destination record.

Lampasas Jail Records Contact

The Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office operates the jail. Current official and indigent-defense sources place it at Barnes Street. Records hours and a jail-record fee schedule were not posted, so call before an in-person visit and ask how the office accepts Public Information Act requests.

Identify an existing record rather than asking staff to research a story. Supply the full name, date of birth or intake number, and a narrow booking range. Ask for the jail-register entry, booking-in and booking-out forms, release or transfer date and time, event type and authority, destination, bond information, legal order, and property receipt if relevant. Request a booking photograph separately and ask for electronic copies plus an estimate before costs exceed a chosen amount.

Lampasas Jail Register Survives

The lack of a web roster does not mean that Lampasas lacks a release record. Texas State Library and Archives Commission Local Schedule PS item PS4200-06 defines the jail register as the summary record for every person committed. It includes, at minimum, name, gender, intake number, reason for confinement, and date of release or transfer. Item PS4200-06a makes that register permanent.

Prisoner incarceration files under PS4200-10 include booking-in and booking-out documents and commitment, transport, transfer, and release orders. Their minimum retention is release or transfer plus two years. Property inventories and receipts and certain conduct or good-time records also have release-based retention periods. Those minimums do not guarantee online access or override confidentiality, but they provide a direct archival route after a transient status disappears.

Note: Ask for segregable public fields if another part of the jail file is withheld under state law.

Lampasas Jail Burnet Transfers

Lampasas County’s interlocal agreement with Burnet County makes out-of-county housing a real part of the local custody map. The located agreement assigns Lampasas responsibility for transporting its detainees between the two facilities and for TDCJ transportation. That arrangement matters whenever a caller hears that someone is “not here.”

Ask whether the answer means a community release, Burnet housing, transfer on another county’s warrant, or movement to TDCJ. If Burnet received the detainee, the Lampasas transfer entry records the local exit while the receiving facility establishes continued custody. If TDCJ received the person, search by TDCJ number or SID when known. County notification and state IVSS registration are separate segments, so a county transfer event may require a new state search and alert.

Lampasas Court Release Proof

Lampasas County Court dockets can show misdemeanor case facts such as the cause number, charge, setting, arresting agency, PERSONAL BOND, a named surety, bond amount, or an IN JAIL notation. District Court felony dockets carry comparable case context and a disposition area. They may outlast a short custody presentation, but each docket is a dated scheduling snapshot.

Use the cause number to request the filed instrument that explains the release path. A bond order supports pretrial release. A judgment and sentence can establish the term and credit. A dismissal ends the named charge, subject to other holds. A probation or discharge order explains community supervision. The jail out entry still establishes when staff completed physical release. Conversely, a jail out time alone does not decide how the criminal case later ended.

The County Clerk states that it does not perform public searches, so avoid an open-ended name inquiry. Route felonies to the District Clerk, county misdemeanors to the proper county office, and City of Lampasas fine-only matters to Municipal Court.

Lampasas County Jail Facts

Sheriff David Parker’s office operates the county jail. A Texas Commission on Jail Standards agenda lists a capacity of 452. That is a TCJS-listed capacity figure, not a claim about current occupancy or the number of annual releases. No reliable local release total, booking count, average stay, or turnover statistic was found.

The City of Lampasas Police Department is an arresting and records agency, not a demonstrated separate long-term jail. Police can supply city arrest and incident materials. County confinement and release confirmation belong with the sheriff, while city fine-only cases route to Municipal Court. No separate public municipal roster was established for Lometa or Kempner.

Why Lampasas Jail Addresses Differ

Current official sources use 1210 Barnes Street. Historical material documents construction of the newer law-enforcement center around 2019 and 2020 and opening events or tours in 2021. Commercial directories frequently retain the former 410 E. Fourth Street address. That older location explains conflicting search results, but it should not guide a present visit or records request.

The current Lampasas County indigent-defense plan corroborates the Barnes address.

The current plan supports the same facility routing used by the sheriff, while stale directories show why official confirmation matters before travel.

Lampasas Jail Release Logistics

No official written source states fixed release times, a public exit, weekend or holiday practice, a family waiting area, a property-return process, a medication handoff, an identification procedure, or a gate-money policy. Those gaps must remain gaps. Call the jail about the specific release and do not arrange transportation around an assumed time.

Lampasas County transportation is rural and demand-response rather than a documented fixed jail route. CARR materials describe weekday local service across several Lampasas County communities, but they do not guarantee a Barnes Street pickup. Confirm eligibility, reservation, fare, approved pickup point, and operating day directly with the provider. If a register or booking entry is wrong, identify the exact record, booking number, field, and supporting proof in a correction request.

Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 55A.451 separately requires the official responsible for release or discharge to give written information about expunction rights and a copy of Chapter 55A. That document does not promise eligibility. Expunction remains dependent on the case facts and statutory rules.
